Accommodation Options
December is high season for tourists in Cape Town. In addition, it turns out that there will be a very large medical conference being held in the city at the same time as the workshop. Thus, accommodation will be less easily available than normal and a lot of the standard hotels are already quite full.
In order to accommodate the workshop delegates, we have contacted and visited a number of guest houses within and around the Pinelands area and checked for availability. Pinelands is near to the workshop venue at the SAAO in the suburb of Observatory and also close to the KAT offices. Delegates may, of course, stay anywhere they like, but please note that we plan to provide a shuttle service to & from the workshop venue from the listed accommodation below. In addition, the guest houses should be less impersonal than the larger hotels.
In light of the busy season, we strongly recommend that delegates make their accommodation bookings ASAP by contacting the guest houses directly. Most offer wireless internet access and various breakfast/supper options.
